These exceptional specimens are a group of four sold separately, with each bearing a different hand written date from 1915 to 1939. These flowers were dried and then framed by a florist in Florence, Italy and then hung on the walls of the shop for years. Every specimen sold in the shop was memorialized in this same manner and we found these four in L’Isle Sur La Sorgue in Provence. Each piece has “Firenze “ and the handwritten date on the front as well as the botanical name of the specimen. The backing is old Italian newsprint further adding to the authenticity. Each frame is aged black and white molding that really shows the age in the weathered patina. The grouping of four makes a magnificent statement on any wall, but even individually they each make a wonderful conversation piece.
