Origin: France (Provence)
Hand selected from hundreds of such jars found in an architectural yard in the South of France, this large vessel was used for over a century to store olive oil made from the olives grown in the region. The handmade piece has a dark reddish hue and has the added feature of handles. It was found in a barn on Fred's property where he stores and sells his salvage finds from estates and churches throughout the region of Provence. This particular piece was inside under a shelf hidden from view for years until we pulled it out after seeing the handles peeking through the shelving.
